How Much Does Junk Removal Cost in Cerritos? Real Prices, Real Loads

If you have searched for junk removal in Cerritos, you have probably noticed that most companies will not put a single price on their website. You fill out a form, wait for a call, and only then find out what the job costs. We think you should know before you pick up the phone, so this post lays out exactly what we charge, what each price covers, and when you might not need to hire anyone at all.

Our junk removal prices in Cerritos

These are the same prices we charge everywhere we work. Labor and dump fees are included in every one of them.

What you havePrice
A single item (a couch, a mattress, a refrigerator)$150
Several large items$250
Quarter load$380
Half load$500
Full load$750
Construction debris, full load$900–$1,500

What “a load” actually means

Every load price is measured against our trailer, which holds 12 cubic yards. It measures 12 feet long, 7 feet wide and 4 feet high. A full load fills that space. A half load is roughly 6 cubic yards, and a quarter load is roughly 3.

To picture it, a quarter load is about what a sofa, a mattress set and a stack of boxes take up together. A half load is closer to a one-car garage that has been used as storage for a few years. A full load is a whole-house cleanout or a garage packed from floor to ceiling.

You do not need to measure anything yourself. Send us a photo and we will tell you which tier it falls into before we arrive.

What is included in the price

The price covers the crew, the loading and the disposal fees at the other end. You point at what needs to go and our crew carries it out, whether it is in the backyard, the garage, an upstairs bedroom or the side yard. You do not have to drag anything to the curb first.

That matters more than it sounds. When customers compare our prices with doing it themselves, they often forget the landfill or transfer station fee, the truck rental, the fuel and the afternoon it takes. We cover a breakdown of those costs in the real cost of DIY junk removal.

What changes the price

For almost everything, the price comes down to how much space your items take up in the trailer. A bulky but light item, like an old sectional, still takes space, so it is priced on volume.

The exception is heavy material. Construction debris such as drywall, tile, wood and plaster weighs far more per cubic yard than furniture, and disposal sites charge heavy loads by weight. That is why a full load of construction debris is priced at $900 to $1,500 instead of $750. If your job includes anything heavy, mention it when you send the photo so the price you get is the price you pay.

Common jobs we see in Cerritos

Most of our Cerritos calls fall into a few patterns:

  • Garage cleanouts, where years of storage finally needs to go. These usually land between a quarter and a half load. See our garage cleanout service.
  • Furniture replacement, where a new couch or bedroom set has arrived and the old one needs to leave. This is usually a single item or several large items. See furniture removal.
  • Appliance swaps, where the old refrigerator, washer or dryer is still standing in the kitchen or garage. See appliance removal.
  • Move-outs, where a family is relocating and everything not making the trip needs to be cleared in one visit.

When you might not need us

This is the part most junk removal companies leave out. Depending on what you have, there may be a cheaper or free option:

  • Bulky-item pickup through your trash service. Many cities in the area include a limited number of free bulky-item pickups through their residential trash hauler. You usually have to schedule ahead, stay within an item limit and move everything to the curb yourself. Check your city’s trash hauler or public works page for the details.
  • Donation. Furniture in good condition can often go to a local charity. Many charities will not accept mattresses or worn upholstered pieces, so call first.
  • Retailer haul-away. If you are buying a new appliance or mattress, ask whether the store will take the old one at delivery.

If one of those works for you, use it. We would rather you call us for the jobs where we genuinely save you time and effort.
